Welcome to my English class!  If you have made it this far then you are in one of my 10th grade English classes at Paxon SAS.  I hope you will find this site helpful; with luck it should give you some information you might not otherwise have and access to resources to make your workload easier.

There are helpful web links here plus anything else I could think of that you might find helpful.  You can always email me at dolfan@myway.com.  I will reply at the first opportunity.  I check this email in the evenings and first thing in the morning.

Whenever possible I post links to stories we are reading so you can read and print them at home.  Since writing in your textbook is forbidden, printing a copy allows you to annotate as much as you would like.  This is generally a very helpful strategy to understanding the writing better.

We are going to work on FCAT writing and reading skills this year, but we are also going to go beyond what the FCAT expects.  As soon as FCAT writing is over we are going to be focusing on AP writing.  FCAT and AP writing are very different styles.  Be ready to switch writing gears.

I am pretty easy-going and easy to get along with provided you try your best always, contribute positively to the class, do your work to the best of your ability, do your work on time, and do not disrupt the learning environment.  Work with me and I will work with you.

I am generally unable to stay after school (except on early release days), but I am at school early every day and am available from about 7:05 until class begins.  If I am not in my room before school, look for me in N104.

Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.
